The pairs, Margaret Tinton & Debbie Walmsley, lost 20-28, the fours, Val Baker, Jan Tallentire, Jenny Bullock & Hazel Pudney, lost 8-23, with the only win coming in the triples, Patricia Heather, Angela Ueckermann & Val Hayes, 17-15. The pairing of Margaret Tinton and Rebecca Smith always had the upper hand and triumphed 18-10.
The triples, Val Hayes, Michelle Carlin and Serena Madgewick started well and with a 10-7 lead after 10 ends, the Wanstead Ladies fought back to take the game 17-11. The rink, Hazel Pudney, Jan Tallentire, Debbie Walmsley and Michelle Squires looked to be comfortable with a 14-8 lead after 15 ends only to be pegged back to a 14-14 result. With the score standing all square and Hayley Kenny fighting out a very close singles game against Maureen Norgate, the result could have gone any way. At 20-19 in favour of Wanstead the game looked to be over for Clock House, but Hayley had other plans and pulled off 2 shots on the next end to win 21-20, giving Clock House a 2.5-1.5 overall win. Angela Ueckermann was the travelling reserve. |

A steady start by Essex put them in the driving seat, until a 5 shot winning end by Devon pulled them back to within striking distance, however the Essex girls rallied and booked their places to Wales, with a 23-16 point win with Devon conceding after 20 ends. If that wasn’t enough entertainment for the Barmy Army supporters from Essex, Hayley Kenny returned to the green, teaming up with Jasmine Wilson of the Radwinter Club, as 2019 Women’s National Junior Pairs Champions, to face a playoff against Rebecca Moorbey & Chloe Brett of Huntingdonshire.
