Sunday 21st September - President's Day
A full house turned out for Mike Long's President's Day tournament in his final year of office and the Presidents team was rewarded with a very close win of 97 shots to 93 over the Captains team. |
The game was followed by a good indulgence of those dainty sandwiches, without crusts, scones with jam/cream or cream/jam, sausage rolls and cakes. Of course there was the sponsored wine.
Well done Mike. |

Saturday 2nd August - Ron Errington
A select turnout of 17 members, not ideal as it's a prime number, were somehow drawn from the selection hat and formed into 5 Triples and a Pair to play the Ron Errington competition with 3 Rounds of 7 ends. With some very close scores in the first 2 rounds, there was the possibility of 4 teams ending with 4 points each. However in the last round, Team A turned a 7 shot deficit after 4 ends into an 8-7 win to take the trophy. Runners up were Jane Legge, Tony Hayes and Barry Watkins but with 3 wins and 6 points on the day were Sue Shorey, Terry Coughlin and Bob Pudney. |
